Calving Gates
Calving Gates
Calving gates are becoming a necessity on Irish farms. As the value of the stock increases, it is becoming more important for farmers to ensure a successful birth. Calving gates are an ideal product to aid this process. In response to many requests, Tully Forge has developed a range of calving gate options.
Compact Calving Gates
This Compact calving gate is a heavy duty gate made from 2.6mm tubing. This triple gate design is perfect for hanging between two cubicles and can be operated from both sides. The user can secure the cows head in the sculling gate which has a quick release at the top. This part of the gate can also be quickly disassembled in case the cow goes down. The middle gate, which is designed with a step to allow for sucking, is then swung around and secured to the wall with a chain. In the event of a C section, the internal bars can be swung open to allow access.

Standalone calving gates
The divided calving gate is another popular option that we manufacture. This system allows the farmer to make use of the feeding passage as well as the calving cubical. The sculling gate is retrofitted into barrier and the calving gate, which can be attached either side, is hung off the post. The gate is then secured with a chain. This option also incorporates a quick release on the sculling gate. The calving gate can be sold separately and used as part of a crush.
Creep Gate
The creep gate produced by Tully Forge is a heavy-duty gate manufactured from tubing, with a 2.6mm wall. It is galvanised, which provides life-long protection from corrosion and rust.
Our creep gate is available from all Connaught Gold Retail Stores. With today’s high meal prices, using our creep gate is an efficient way to ensure that your calves get the quality feed they need.
Alternative Uses
The photograph below illustrates how our creep gate can be utilised in other ways. In this instance, by simply adding another gate and a trough, the farmer has created a pin in the corner of his field, allowing his calves to access the meal they require.
Our feeding barriers are made 76mm tubing with 33mm tubing uprights. They fully galvanised and can be hung on the left or the right side of the bay.
These heavy duty gates are made from 2.6mm tubing and will withstand alot of pressure from bulls and cattle. We manufacture Two types. The first is four foot high with 5 rails and is ideal for between pins in a slatted house. The second type is Five foot high and is made with 6 rails. This is commonly used in cattle pins and crushes. All sizes can be made to order.
This chain harrow is manufactured from 8mm angle and 3mm box section. It is a strong and durable peice of machinery. The heavy angle at the front levels the humps and bumps out of the land while also helping to spread the cow muck around the field. The chains dig into the soil, rooting up dead grass and helping to improve growing conditions. The frame can be folded up for transport.
We manufacture various galvanised rigging brackets. The ballast satellite brackets are ideal for fixing a satellite to the roof of a building.
Tully Forge Ltd provides a wide variety of welding services for oil and gas projects. Our welders are coded to ASME IX standard in all positions.Work primarily involves the welding of carbon and stainless steel pipe work of various diameters for both process and utility purposes.

Agri-spread
To Whom It Concerns,
After an unfortunate break-in we decided to install a cantilever security gate on our premises. We rang Tully Forge and Gerard came to assess the job the following day. From the very beginning he was very helpful with suggestions as to an appropriate size and direction of opening for the gate.
After receiving a number of quotes we decided to engage Tully Forge to undertake the task as we felt most comfortable that they would deliver a quality job and at a very reasonable price. They promised a 6 week turnaround which was crucial as our premises was in a vulnerable condition ./p>
During the following weeks while we were doing the prep work, Gerard was on hand to insure all the components were in the correct place for installing the gate.
5 weeks after we ordered the gate, we were contacted by Tully Forge to organise an appropriate day for installation. As our premises was closed on Saturday Gerard suggested that this would be the best day to do the job.
Tully Forge completed all works on time and at all stages throughout the process they talked me through every aspect of the work to ensure it was exactly what we wanted. We would highly recommend Tully Forge and the fact that they are local entrepreneurs was a bonus for us.
We continue to use Tully Forge as a supplier and we wish to record out gratitude and appreciation to them.
Kind regards,
